massage

Ayurvedic Yoga Massage combines deep tissue massage, assisted yogic stretches, and energy work. This is not your traditional Ayurvedic abhyanga massage. It uses principles of Ayurveda, but the technique is different.

AYM helps to locate and remove particular issues related to the muscles, joints and ligaments, while improving blood circulation and initiating detoxification. In particular, this technique serves to open up the shoulders and chest region, creating a feeling of space and greater breath flow in the body. A strong and stimulating form of massage, the effects of AYM are deeply relaxing and rejuvenating.

Ayurvedic Yoga Massage sessions last  60, 75, or 90 minutes. They are performed on the floor, similar to Thai massage, allowing for the full range of stretching. A perfect complement to yoga asana practice, AYM sessions lead to a gradual “opening” of the entire body, dissolving tension, releasing mental or physical blockages, and increasing the flexibility and, ultimately, realignment of the body.
