Yoga & Meditation Retreat in South India

3-11 December 2019

Now in its third year, this 9-day retreat will give you the opportunity to fully release into your yoga & meditation practice, recharge your body and mind, and realign with your Self.  Kath will guide you in twice daily workshops with Prana Kriya Yoga in the morning, Himalayan Hatha Yoga in the evening and Meditation during the day.  Through these practices and engagement with nature you will realize a deepening awareness of self, inner and outer alignment, and mental and physical strength. Each day’s program will help you expand your understanding of body & mind and to create harmony between both.

This year’s retreat includes an optional 3-day detox package at the beginning of the programme to allow you to get settled into the space, balanced and centered, and fully prepared for the yoga immersion. A 3-day detox overseen by our residential Ayurvedic Practitioner, Dr. Radhika Agrawal, will be designed specifically for you.  Dr.  Agrawal will start the program with a consultation to determine the best method or detox for you over the 3 days.   Special ayurvedic treatments, meals, activities and herbal medicines are all included in the Ayurvedic Detox Program.

A simple three-day ayurvedic detox can help to:

  • Improve digestion and metabolic function
  • Promote regular and balanced elimination
  • Support the maintenance of a healthy body weight.
  • Nurture an improved sense of energy, vitality, and enthusiasm for life
  • Foster clarity and grounding in the body, mind & soul
  • Encourage a balanced sleep cycle
  • Promote improved overall health

Set on the lush grounds of Ashok Tree, a dedicated yoga retreat space in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, the natural environment, nutritious food, and surrounding community are all designed to bring you to optimum health, inviting you to relax and return to yourself – and your practice. Additional excursions to 10th-century Annamalaiyar Temple, sacred Arunachala mountain, Ramana Ashram, and other local sites of interest will introduce you to the local Tamil culture, which has strong yogic foundations.
